Lethenteron reissneri is distributed from Anadyr and Kamchatka to Sakhalin in Russia. It can also be found in the rivers of Korea and Japan. The shape of the body resembles the three toothed lamprey and is brown in color. The lower labial teeth are poorly developed or absent. It has no external lateral labial teeth. Most of the existing rigs are suitable for fishing for Far Eastern brook lamprey.
